This month we have lost a fellow mountain biker and a good friend Sii Srisabai. Sii was a frequent rider at Makakilo, Royal Summit, and Kualoa Ranch. He had competed at numerous 24 Hours of Hell in Paradise, Honolulu Triathlon, and Xterra Mountainman events.  He passed away on September 6, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer. Sii leaves behind his wife Christine, children Cedrian, Sianne, Seithan, and Seiver (Kaeo).

Please join me to help celebrate his passing at Mililani Memorial Park Mortuary (Mauka Chapel) on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. The address is
94-560 Kamehameha Hwy.

Please pass on this message to other mountain bikers and those that knew Sii.

Thanks for helping,

Cedric

Update: Lance said the bike has been found and he&undefined;ll be posting soon on the details.  Thanks to all who helped look for his bike.

Turner 5 Spot [silver front, polished rear, Fox 36 fork, Push Fox RP3 rear shock, XTR cranks(older version, 4 bolt, shiny gun metal grey color), old school XT disc brakes(4 pistons)
Contact Lance, 381-0831.

Bike was stolen from his work place in Kalihi(Belt Collins) today.

Here&undefined;s the pic. Please note that the fork and front wheel in that picture are not the ones that were on it when it was stolen. Fork on there now is a Fox 36 TALAS with a 20mm thru axle and the wheel has a Hadley 20mm hub and Mavic 521 rim.

Aloha All,
We're looking for a Logo for DH Hawaii and since a few of you have been coming up with or are working on some designs then let's have a contest to choose one.

This is what we're looking for:

A SYMBOL and a LOGO
Criteria:
1. Bold - needs to stand out
2. Stand alone - needs to be able to stand alone, one without the other
3. Simple - nothing fancy.  We'll be making stickers, t-shirts, hood ornaments, etc... so it needs to translate well to other types of media.  Something too fancy like several bikers dropping off a cliff with the moonlight in back of them may not do so well as a sticker - you get the idea.
4. One color - In print or on the web, the symbol can be colored but for stickers, shirts, etc... we're looking for something that would look good with one color.

Preferably looking for two separate pieces - a design for the symbol and a design for the logo.  We want to be able to use either one or the other and sometimes both together so we don't want to have one design dependant on the other.  Some examples of a symbol would be the FOX for Fox Racing or the M for Marzocchi.  A Hawaiian theme would be cool if you can incorporate it but not required.  However, if there's a submission that doesn't meet the criteria above but is so good that we can't pass it up then we'll let the members vote on it.

Some things to keep in mind:
This will be representing DHHawaii and all it's members so keep it tasteful.
Has to be original artwork - we don't want someone suing us for stealing their designs.

All entries must be submitted by Friday, April 27 11:59pm Hawaii Standard Time.  Entries excepted later will not be considered.
Email all entries to Dennis at webmaster@dhhawaii.com.  You may post your designs up on the board but if you don't send it to me then it won't be considered.
We'll look through all the entries and choose the ones we feel would best represent DHHawaii and post them on this Messageboard and have the members vote for the one they like the best.  There will be a vote for a SYMBOL and a vote for a LOGO.  Voting will begin on Saturday, April 28 at 1pm HST and end on Saturday, May 12 at 6:30pm HST.

GOOD LUCK!
